What's on this Bank Holiday Weekend ?

It Looks like its going to be a wet and rainy bank holiday weekend, but i am pretty sure that wont stop any of us Caribbeans from making the most of a long weekend. I already know the places I'm heading to this weekend , do you?

For all those living in or near the Preston area and interested in having a say about the 2013 Preston Carnival then please read the notice below and feel free to attend the meeting.

Preston Carnival invited members of the public to attend
Preston Caribbean Carnival 1st public meeting of 2013.

It will be held at 5:00 on the 27th Jan 2013

Preston Caribbean Carnival Committee needs input from the community about carnival for 2013 and beyond.
Come meet the new committee and put forward your Ideas or concerns.
Learn how you can get involved in carnival by been a volunteer or taking part in the procession.
Please help support Preston’s Caribbean carnival by attending.
spread the word about the meeting.

Nottinghill Carnival

Notting Carnival is one of Europe's Biggest Street festival and is always celebrated on the August Bank Holiday where every year the streets of West London come alive, with the sounds and smells of Europe’s biggest street festival. Twenty miles of vibrant colorful costumes surround over 40 static sound systems, hundreds of Caribbean food stalls,over 40,000 volunteers and over 1 million Notting Hill carnival revellers.

The Notting Hill Carnival usually gets under way on the Saturday with the steel band competition. Sunday is Kids’ Day. On the Bank Holiday Monday, the main parade takes place. It generally begins on Great Western Road, then winds its way along Chepstow Road, on to Westbourne Grove, and then Ladbroke Grove. In the evening, the floats leave the streets in procession, and people carry continue partying at the many Notting Hill Carnival after parties.
